The notion that Freemasons are involved in evil operations has been criticized by Nana Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, the deputy minister of trade and industry.
Tagging these people with things like “carrying pots, drinking blood, and eating human flesh,” according to the MP for Akuapem North, is ignorant.
“How can you assume gentlemen of good standing well dressed up in their suits, ‘carry pots, drink blood, and eat human flesh’?” She asked.
She emphasized that these beliefs are unjust and unfounded charges that are frequently made against Freemasons.
She called on those who were skeptical to attend these events in order to gain an appreciation of the principles and character of Freemasons, whom she referred to as “Fantastic gentlemen.”
Asiamah-Adjei concluded by jokingly inviting those who disagreed to “argue with your pillow,” expressing her confidence in debunking rumors about Freemasonry and encouraging a better knowledge of the group and its members.
In the meantime, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has suggested that Freemason Lodges in Ghana be specifically designed with women in mind.
He mentioned the successful existence of female lodges inside the grand lodge structures of Liberia, which are similar to those in England, and added, “This may be a great opportunity to discuss forming a grand lodge for females attached to the grand lodge of Ghana.”
At a lavish event commemorating his 25 years as a member of Freemasonry and the Golden Stool, he made this declaration.
