The leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been requested to choose his running mate from either the Bono or Bono East Region by Osagyefo Oseadeayo Agyemang Badu II, the president of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
As part of the Vice President’s visitation to the area, Nana Agyemang Badu II, the Omanhene of the Dormaa Traditional Area, paid a courtesy call on the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
He claims that if Bawumia chooses someone else over the Bono and Bono East regions, it might have an impact on the support he receives in the area.
“Your Excellency, I understand that you will choose your running mate very shortly. I haven’t heard if you have chosen as well.Most regions have a large population, but if you are careless and concentrate just on a few, those individuals will vote for you while the rest of us will vote against you.
“Your Excellency, I would want to request that the Bono region be kept in memory.I’ve noticed that you’ve come here with local sons,” he said.
He recommended that Dr. Bawumia take into consideration a few possible running mates from the area, namely Martin Adjei Korsah, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, and Mahama Afful.
