Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured Ghanaians that the “dumsor,” or current power crisis, will be resolved soon.
Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed the commitment of the administration to permanently resolve the outages.
Before beginning his statewide tour in the Eastern Region on Monday, April 29, Dr. Bawumia gave Ghanaians the assurance that the Energy Ministry is aggressively addressing the difficulties facing the nation’s energy sector during a breakfast meeting with regional leaders of the NPP.
“We will focus on addressing the difficulties that I am aware of. The Minister of Energy has assured us that the electricity problems we are currently experiencing would soon be resolved, saying that they are laboring on it,” he remarked.

Dr. Bawumia also emphasized the accomplishments of the Akufo-Addo administration, saying that customers are no longer need to stand in lengthy lines at ECG offices in order to purchase electricity—they can now do so from the comfort of their homes or from anywhere.
“We take it for granted now, but a few years ago you had to go and queue at the ECG payment center to buy electricity,” Dr. Bawumia continued. “This is the first time in our history that people can buy electricity units on their mobile phones.”
The chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) governing board, Herbert Krapa, recently gave Ghanaians hope that the country’s current power crisis, dubbed “dumsor,” will soon come to an end.
According to him, the administration has taken the necessary steps to guarantee that customers have a steady supply of electricity.
Mr. Krapa emphasized that the government is committed to finding solutions for Ghanaians’ problems in order to serve the populace.
