Family Members of Apatano Nsona Ebusua at Komenda Community in Komenda The Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as “Chairman Wontumi,” has been urged to apologize by the Edina Eguafo-Abrem Municipality of the Central Region for allegedly disrespectful remarks he made against their daughter, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
Apatano Nsona Ebusua claims that Mr. Boasiako made shocking comments regarding Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s background. He implied that our daughter was secretly married to John Dramina Mahama, the opposition party’s presidential candidate, and that she wasn’t from the central region but rather originated from the north.
Await the signal.
Spokesperson for the Naana family, Uncle Kwofie Batch, gave a statement during a press conference at the Apatano Nsona Ebusua premises in Komenda. He said that the family has given Chairman Wontumi a week to retract and apologize to the entire Komenda community as well as to the Naana family, or face our wrath.
When Madam Grace Atta French, the daughter of the late Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, addressed the media, she was sobbing uncontrollably and was astonished to learn of Chairman Wontumi’s remarks.
“We knew our daughter Jane has divorced her husband some years ago so if Chairman Wontumi in public alleged that Mr. John Dramina Mahama is secretly married to our daughter, family welcome the news” , the family stated.
Give the family a marriage certificate attesting to Jane and John’s direct relationship as stated by Madam Grace Atta French.
Speaking on behalf of the party, Mr. Charles Entsuah, Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that the insulting remarks made by Chairman Wontumi are unjustified and that the NPP leadership must address the matter and provide an apology to the Komenda people. There is no denying Prof. Jane’s influence on the town, and she merits praise and assistance for her ongoing attempts to improve Komenda residents’ quality of life.
