AFCON defending champions Algeria, known as the desert foxes have suffered a shock defeat to Equitorial Guinea at AFCON 21 underway in Cameroon.
The Equito-Guineans had 4 shots on target as compared to 3 by the defending champions and should have taken the lead as early as the 49th minute, but the kick was misdirected. The only goal of the highly competitive match, a sensational goal, was scored by Esteban Orozco in the 70th minute.

Earlier in the day Ivory Coast drew 2-2 with Sierra Leone in the other Group E game.
Algeria’s defeat means their chances of qualifying to the next round of matches is considerably low. The results of today’s round of matches leaves Ivory Coast on top with 4 points, Equtorial Guinea takes the second spot with 3 points, Sierra Leone is third with 2 points after drawing their two Group E matches. The AFCON defending champions Algeria is at the bottom of the group with 1 point after two games. the situation remains competitive running into the last round of matches as Algeria comes face to face with leaders Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone taking on the new giant-killers Equitorial Guinea.
