Two children, aged eleven and a one-month-old baby were burnt to ashes when fire engulfed the room in which they were sleeping at Buokrom B-line in the Kumasi Metropolis in the Ashanti region. According to the reports, four others sustained various degrees of injuries with some in critical conditions in a domestic fire outbreak on early hours of Friday. Some residents in the area told OTEC News Kwame Agyenim Boateng that the inferno started around 2-am on Friday ,December 24, 2021, in the five bedroom apartment with 11 year old Blessing and a one-month-old baby burnt beyond recognition. The children from different mothers according witness who had been locked up in the room were burnt to death before the fire could be doused by the residents.
Four others who sustained severe burning injuries have been sent to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital while the deceased have also been deposited at the morgue.
