The Free Senior High School bill will soon be introduced, according to the announcement made by Parliament.
The law will impose future governments with obligations to adopt the free SHS program.
Prior to Parliament reconvening after its recess on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, made the following announcement at a news conference.
He said that Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the minister of education, would soon introduce a finalized law.
He claims that the action is taken to stop any government from trying to reverse the policy.
The caucus is currently without a leader because he is in court for the hearing.
The trial judge’s apparent intention to prevent the MP from participating in official government activities worries the NDC caucus.
The Minority says they won’t enter the chamber until the Minority Leader returns as a result of this.
Minority Chief Whip Kwame Governs Agbodza claims that as a sign of their solidarity, the action will go on every day the MP appears in court.
“… the NDC Minority will continue to solidarise and stand by its Leader anytime he is due to appear in court.”
