The head of the New Force Movement and its founder, Nana Kwame Bediako, also referred to as Cheddar, has reaffirmed his intention to dredge the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi, to be reached by sea.
He emphasized how water features may enhance people’s lives all throughout the world.
During a campaign tour, Cheddar was criticized for saying he would dig the sea to promote industrialization in Kumasi, a landlocked city.
The independent presidential candidate emphasized his commitment to his objective of dredging the sea to the Ashanti Region in an interview with Citi TV, asserting that if he is elected, it will be possible.
Speaking of the sea arriving in Kumasi and everything else, I believe that many people in this nation have traveled. The youth make up the majority of our population, thus I believe they are also enlightened to see. Every one of the 50 best citizens in the world today is built around water, so if you select them and click on each one, you’ll see why. Everywhere there is water: Miami, Los Angeles, Dubai, London, New York, England. Water provides irrigation, life, and many other benefits.
“The sea connects the world and is used for transportation, which is one of the reasons it is necessary. The regions are connected by rivers and lagoons, so you can dredge them as you would with English canals and ferries, which create linkages within the communities and spur growth in these places. Tamale, that weather will stop if we can link any of the bodies of water.
He said, “There’s River Pra which goes to the sea in Cape Coast and goes all the way to Kumasi,” explaining his vision. The River Tano extends to Takoradi, Elubo, in its entirety. When you travel to the Ivory Coast, you will see a large dredge in the center of the city that was used to bring water into a river body. These possibilities exist everywhere in the planet.
It will take Ghanaians a century to stop worrying about what to do with their water, according to the largest vision I have for this country. We must unlock the waterways and use our water for farming and transit.
He answered, “Yes, I did,” when questioned if he had promised to dredge the sea to Kumasi.
When you make choices like this, others have the right to characterize, criticize, and disparage you. The only thing that bothers me about those who claim that is that they should be smart enough to outperform others they are attempting to undermine.
