It seems that Telecel Ghana has been making significant strides in expanding its 4G network, which was previously smaller than that of the market leader. Meanwhile, AT Ghana has yet to roll out 4G. Telecel has promised to invest up to $500 million in network infrastructure in the first three years after acquiring Vodafone’s 70% shares in Ghana Telecom. CEO Patricia Obo-Nai has said that the company promised to build 2,000 additional cell sites across the country, of which 500 have been completed in just one year. Telecel is also expanding its retail presence, with plans to open 500 retail shops by the end of 2024. The company has also expressed its commitment to great customer experience and exciting service delivery for customers. Telecel is set to acquire MTN’s operations in Guinea Conakry and Guinea Bissau in the next few months, consistent with its Africa-focus strategy.
